Meet The Physicians

David L. Buller, M.D.

  • B.A. from Tabor College, Hillsboro Kansas
  • M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City
  • Residency at St. Joseph Family Practice, Wichita
  • Joined Family Practice Associates in 1988.
  • Has been awarded the degree of Fellow with the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Buller is married and has three adult children, all of whom went to McPherson public schools. He is an active member of the community, and really enjoys living here. His practice is full spectrum, newborn to geriatrics. He enjoys obstetrics and is one of the two main c-section providers in town. He also does outpatient laparoscopic tubal ligations. His practice is currently open to new OB patients, children, and young families new to the area.

 

Richard A. Ferree, M.D.

  • M.D. from Creighton University, Omaha Nebraska
  • Residency at Broadlawns Medical Center, Des Moines Iowa
  • Established (along with Dr. Thomas) Family Practice Associates in 1979.

Dr. Ferree was born and raised in rural Iowa. He and his wife and family moved to McPherson in July of 1979. He is an avid gardener and enjoys swimming laps at the YMCA and traveling to visit his three adult sons and two granddaughters. Although he sees patients of all ages and delivers babies, he has a particular interest in the challenges facing aging patients including nursing home care and hospice. He is accepting a limited number of new patients of all ages and obstetrics patients.

 

Sheila W. Gorman, M.D.

  • B.S. from Texas Women's University, Dallas Texas
  • M.D. from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas
  • Residency at North Colorado Family Medicine, Greeley Colorado.
  • Began practicing in McPherson in 2001
  • Joined Family Practice Associates in 2008.

Dr. Gorman is married with two children. She and her family are very involved in 4-H, church, and school activities. Her practice includes patients of all ages and both genders. She particularly enjoys obstetrics and women's health. She is accepting new obstetric patients at all times, and others as scheduling allows.

 

Shelley Overholt, M.D.

  • Residency at AHEC/University of Arkansas at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
  • Joined Family Practice Associates in 2001.
  • Clinical instructor, University of Kansas Medical Center.

Dr. Overholt is originally from McPherson and graduated MHS. She is married with two sons and is an avid quilter. Her practice is primarily young families, with an emphasis on obstetrics (including ultrasound and c-sections), office gynecology (well woman exams, follow-up of abnormal Pap smears, contraception), and pediatrics. She is accepting new obstetric patients at all times, and young families who are new to the area on a case-by-case basis.

 

Gregory M. Thomas, M.D.

  • M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City
  • Residency at Martin Army Hospital, Ft. Benning Georgia
  • Established (along with Dr. Ferree) Family Practice Associates in 1979.

  • Medical Director, University of Kansas South Central Medical Education Network Site

Dr. Thomas is married with three adult children and 5 grandchildren. His practice is made up of patients of all ages and includes obstetrics. He has a special interest in wellness issues and community based research related to lifestyle issues. He is accepting new obstetric patients and family members of current patients.

 

 

Meet the Physician Assistants

Brent Roberts

  • B.S. from the University of Kansas
  • P.A. degree from Wichita State University Pharm.D. from the University of Kansas Joined Family Practice Associates in 1999.

Brent works half-time here as a PA, and half-time at WalMart as a pharmacist, so he is very knowledgeable about medications and drug-drug interactions. He lives in Lindsborg, and is a Masters Swimmer and occasional tri-athlete whose accomplishments include being a member of an All-American Masters Swimming relay team in 2009. He has a special interest in orthopedic complaints and sports injuries. He does a great deal of geriatric care, including visiting nursing home patients.

 

Rachel Stucky

  • B.S. from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa Oklahoma
  • P.A. degree from the University of Oklahoma
  • Joined Family Practice Associates in 2005.

Rachel is originally from McPherson and graduated from Elyria High School. She is married with one daughter and enjoys gardening and traveling.

She enjoys pediatric patients, both for sick visits and well child exams, and women's health exams.

 

Tracy Sweat

  • Attended McPherson College prior to P.A. school
  • P.A. degree from Wichita State University
  • Joined Family Practice Associates in 1998.

Tracy is married with two daughters. She enjoys reading and watching all kinds of sporting events. She likes seeing both adult and pediatric patients, including sports physicals, well child exams, adult physicals, and acute care.
